TOKIO ART BOOK FAIR 2025 by TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR will be held for the first time this year at the Shiba Park Hotel from May 2 to 4 during Golden Week holidays next month. This art book fair is co-sponsored by the TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR (TABF) and the Shiba Park Hotel, whose concept is “A library hotel that connects people, towns, and history,” and the fair will be positioned as a parallel to the TABF.
This is the first attempt to adopt an invitation-based format, where participants are invited by hosts who have exhibited at TABF in the past, rather than from the open call for applications. So, on the recommendation of the host, Mulu Office of Taiwan, Nomad Papaya Books, an art book label based in Germany and Taiwan who is also a friend of mine from my HFBK (Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg) days, and the publisher of the collection of my drawings that published last year, will be making their first appearance in Japan! At the booth, they will be presenting with all their publications to date (maybe even the latest!?) and my book “Ungenießbare Zeichnungen” will also be launched for the first time in Japan;)
There will also be a public talk event featuring Nomad Papaya Books on Saturday, and I will be there for three days during the fair, although my time is limited. If you are in the neighborhood or have time, please stop by.
For admission, tickets are by reservation only, and there is no plan to sell tickets at the venue on the day of the fair, so please check the website in advance for more details.
